Meltdown in LA Sanchez pinch hit ices former streak chaser Gagne Eric Gagne chased the consecutive save record last season. This year, however, hasn't started exactly how Gagne would have wanted it to. With a 2-1 lead going into the 9th inning over the Giants, thanks in part to the solid pitching of LA starter Odalis Perez, Gagne took the mound. Gagne walked the first two batters he faced in Grissom and Matheney, which would come back to haunt him. Gagne then proceeded to strike out Ray Durham before Alex Sanchez stepped in to pinch hit for Jeremy Accardo, who ended up getting the win for his 2 1/3 scoreless innings of work. Sanchez singled home Grissom and advanced Matheney to third, when Omar Vizquel came to the plate. Gagne struck out Omar, and found himself facing Pedro Feliz, who had already hit a solo shot in the 4th off of Perez. Feliz continued his good game, this time knocking home Mike Matheney for the win. For the Dodgers, Oscar Robles scored 2 runs, being knocked in by recently acquired Manny Ramirez and also recently acquired Torii Hunter.
