Shingo Takatsu was offered several deals on Monday and Tuesday, but in the end, Shingo agreed to play his home games at Fenway Park with the Red Sox. Red Sox GM Theo Epstein offered Takatsu a very lucrative $8,466,500.00 deal, including a $1,000,000.00 incentive should Takatsu make the All-Star team in his new threads. Epstein was quoted with saying "He (Takatsu) will be an excellent addition to an already great bullpen. This will help fulfill our goal to make our Pen the best in baseball." You heard it here first.

I don't think it's stupid...if it wasn't that high you wouldn't have won him.
